Swamped

Hi guys,

it’s been a busy week for sure.  And I am one tired cookie.  I am looking forward to the weekend so that I can try and catch up on my sleep.

I finally finished up my banner Monday night.  What do you think?

It represents nature and the animals found in Strathcona Park, as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the oldest park in British Columbia.  It’s such a beautiful place in the world.. and it’s right in my backyard.  Each year my school participates in the Banner project that’s hosted by our local Arts Society, and they get hung along the streets of our city.  I came up with this year’s design and the kids all helped paint it.  A lot of work every year, but well worth it I think.  The kids are always excited to see a piece of their art hanging proudly around their hometown.

Tuesday night was concert night… my school’s choir participated in a Festival and I went to go and hear them sing.  We definitely have some great talent in this town.  And Trevor came home Tuesday night too… I was so happy to see him Smile

Wednesday was also a busy evening… after another long day at work, I had just enough time to get home, make dinner and then head off for another Blood Donation.  Unfortunately my body had other plans as I was rejected for having low iron Sad smile  This happens from time to time and it’s usually because i haven’t been eating enough, but this time around was mysterious.  I had a lot of Green Monsters throughout the last few weeks in preparation, but it still was not enough.

I also made another Double Chocolate Chilled Torte for our Staff Meeting today.  So after my failed attempt at blood donation, I headed for the store, came home and made my creation.  It was well received, BTW.

Now on to food….

Yesterday I whipped up a quick batch of Gnocchi.  I still had some in the freezer from the last time.  Click here to see recipe.  To this Buckwheat Butternut Squash Gnocchi I added some onions, bacon and mushrooms and pesto sauce.  Then I made a couple of eggs, easy-over, and chowed down.  It was very appetizing.

Hope you are all having a great week…tomorrow is Friday..woohoo.  My plans will involved another hockey game, making final edits to my report cards and planning out my Learning Outcomes for the last trimester of the 2010/2011 school year.

Don’t forget to turn ahead your clocks by 1 hour Saturday night before heading to bed… Dailight Savings Time officially begins…but at least that means that Spring is here Smile  Let hope Mother Nature makes it feel like Spring soon, because I’m getting tired of these stormy and cool days.

Any special plans this weekend?

With love,

Bea
